Town transport

It is not at all difficult to travel in the island of Menorca for the important places are mostly in the town s centre and somewhat compressed together. Menorca has capitalized pedestrian lanes for the benefit of the public and walking is certainly an enjoyable option to get around and explore. However, for those who aren t so favourable with using their feet to move around, there are different modes of transportation available in Menorca.

Bus

Buses are a good way to see the city s attraction without spending much. Many run around Menorca, and there are also buses that include the smaller towns in their route. It is vital for you to keep a definite return schedule in mind when travelling around so you can plan ahead, since there is less number of buses that travel during the weekend. Majority of these buses are orange and single-decker.

Taxicabs

If you want to do away with the hassle of driving a rented car, a taxi in Menorca is a good alternative. These taxi cabs will also enable you to have stopovers in the sights and attractions of the island. The fare of taxicabs is based on calibrated meters. However, additional charges are usually asked depending on the number of passengers, luggage, and the time of travel.

Scooter

A scooter is one really cool method of transportation to travel around the island of Menorca. This means of getting around is really popular in the island, especially since there are some very narrow streets in Menorca that are not accessible by cars. The scooter s cheaper rental price and smaller size prove to be advantageous to the hippies on a budget.

Car Rental

If your wish is to be able to see the whole of Menorca and its amazing sceneries at your own convenience, a car and a map are the best solution. However, you should bear in mind that most of the streets in the picturesque villages are very narrow and you might find some problems to park. Gook luck!
